Within its Credit and Private Markets division, the business plays an active role in financing infrastructure and development projects that support economic growth across South Africa and the broader African region. The team is responsible for structuring and managing private debt investments across sectors such as energy, transport, utilities, and social infrastructure.
The organisation offers a collaborative, high-performance environment where investment professionals work closely with experienced portfolio managers, credit specialists, and institutional clients.
Experience
- Approximately 10 years of relevant experience within investment management, credit, development finance, or banking.
- Ideally 5–6 years of experience within banking, infrastructure finance, or structured credit.
- Exposure to private markets or unlisted investments is highly advantageous.
- Experience working alongside or supporting Fund Managers in portfolio management activities.
Client-facing experience and the ability to interact with institutional investors is important
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Science, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
Preferred qualifications may include:
- Chartered Accountant (CA)
- CFA Charterholder or CFA candidate
- Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, or related discipline
- Candidates with backgrounds in law or actuarial science who have transitioned into investment or portfolio management will also be considered.
Skills:
- Strong analytical and credit assessment skills
- Understanding of infrastructure and development finance structures
- Knowledge of private debt and unlisted investments
- Ability to work within a portfolio management environment
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- High levels of commercial judgement and investment discipline
