A growing yet well-established asset manager is looking to appoint a high-calibre Equity Analyst to join their investment team in Johannesburg. This is a compelling opportunity to operate as a generalist across both local and global equities, working closely with the CIO and Portfolio Managers in a collaborative, high-performance environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth fundamental research across a broad universe of local and global listed companies
- Build and maintain detailed financial models and valuation frameworks
- Generate high-conviction investment ideas and present recommendations to the investment committee
- Monitor portfolio holdings and provide ongoing insights on performance drivers and risks
- Engage with company management teams, industry experts, and sell-side analysts
- Contribute to portfolio construction discussions alongside the CIO and PMs
Requirements
- Relevant degree in Finance, Economics, Investments, or similar
- CFA Charterholder or progression toward CFA highly preferred
- 6+ years’ experience in equity research
- Strong financial modelling and valuation capability
- Demonstrated ability to form independent, well-articulated investment views
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
